We are being watched!
Yes, watched. Watched by terrorists around the globe to understand our way of life. When the tragedy happened in Sandy Hook, CT, you can be sure that the guys that hate us and our way of life around the world were paying especially close attention. And this is what they saw…
1. A country that cares so much for life and particularly about the lives of their children.
2. A divided country that is extremely split on what the function of government is in society.
3. A wildly divisive debate on the second amendment and whether guns should be owned and carried by individuals in this country.
Now, you can be assured that the terrorists that want to destroy us are taking notes. They are figuring out their next plan of attack and what our vulnerabilities are. And they don’t have to look far. We have managed to highlight the perfect soft target that could potentially cripple our country.
If the terrorists, God forbid were to target schools around our nation, they already know how we would react. It would not only almost guarantee a wide consensus on gun control, but would splinter our country so badly, that it would be hard to ever recover.
Now, I understand that we shouldn’t be providing the enemy with any ideas, but they would have to be stupid, not to be thinking of this and unfortunately, they are not stupid.
The solution? I wish I had one. Our nation is truly so divided that there really is no short-term solution. It’s going to be a long, drawn out road to correct the mistaken, and illogical notion that more gun legislation is what we need to fix the problem. It all comes back to what I have been saying all along. If we want to fix the problem with education safety, we must do it with education. We must be out there on the front lines trying our best to re instill American principles back into our system.
Any other short term solution is just a band-aid. We cannot protect our children with gun free zones. Nor can we protect them with an armed guard. The change must be in mentality. I wish it were easier…
